Mountains of Data Don’t Necessarily Mean Better Decisions.

It sounds completely logical: more data leads to smarter marketing decisions. But – of course – it’s not that simple.

More isn’t always better.

Volume isn’t the key to making choices that make the most of your budget. Instead, it’s about capturing the right information, and the most useful insights. It’s a discipline that, according to a recent article in CBT News by Brian Pasch of PCG Companies, the vast majority of dealers don’t currently possess.

One key to it all is the proper configuration of Google Analytics. As Brian explains, monthly marketing reports simply don’t have the actionable insights that help you make smarter decisions for your budget. Tracking the most important goals and events in your GA is the pathway to boosting conversions, engagement, and sales.

Brian’s article details how getting your Google Analytics in fighting shape can give you the concrete data that leads to optimized strategies and reduced wasted spend.

Precise information = better decisions.

Additionally, tools like the LotLinx VIN View Optimizer can also help you cut through the data noise, and pinpoint the information that leads to more effective spending and reduced waste.

The VVO provides a granular analysis of the activity each car in a dealer’s inventory is generating, so dealers can identify waste and optimize for higher ROI. The VVO is fully  integrated with Google Analytics, providing a truly holistic view of all online engagement.

Straight from the experts.

This vital topic was also the focus of a recent webinar, featuring David Salinas and Jen Paine of LotLinx, and sponsored by Digital Dealer. In the webinar, David and Jen highlighted additional ways LotLinx technology enables dealers to draw more value from their data. If you weren’t able to attend the event live, you can access the full recording at your convenience.

Clearly, the pace and volume of data will both only increase. Which means implementing strategies and technology that help you cut through the noise, and tap into the information that can truly make a difference, is a survival skill no dealer should be without.
